How Can We Advocate

What is it to be an advocate? To be an advocate, it is to publicly support a particular cause!

-Become a citizen advocate & get involved in the community! Volunteer at places outside with individuals that have disabilities.

-Be an individual advocate! Advocates for a person with disabilities through a one-on-one approach. Typically, individual advocates are there to prevent or address any unfair treatment or abuse a person with disabilities may face. Social security advocates also fall under this category.

-Advocate for yourself!

Employee BurnOut:

What is BurnOut?

“Job burnout is a special type of work-related stress — a state of physical or emotional exhaustion that also involves a sense of reduced accomplishment and loss of personal identity.

"Burnout" isn't a medical diagnosis. Some experts think that other conditions, such as depression, are behind burnout. Researchers point out that individual factors, such as personality traits and family life, influence who experiences job burnout.

Whatever the cause, job burnout can affect your physical and mental health. Consider how to know if you've got job burnout and what you can do about it.” -Mayo Clinic

Tips on Avoiding BurnOut:

    • Staying active is not just important for your mind but for your mind.
