Recreational Therapist:

“Recreational Therapy at the Milieu Center consists of using the 6 aspects of leisure (Psychological and Emotional, Social, Spiritual, Physical, and Cognitive) to support the well-being of clientele in group sessions.The Recreation Therapist’s role is to conduct assessments and provide interventions to meet the functional level of the client The following five subjects are facilitated during the week: Leisure exploration, Skill Training, Self-Awareness, Leisure Education, and Social Recreation.”

Life Skills:

“The Life Skills program provides clients with the necessary tools and strategies to help promote and maintain independence in daily functional skills such as activities of daily living, money management, and healthier living.”

Vocational Specialist:

“The Vocational Specialist's job is to help our clients increase their ability to be successful in the workplace. We work towards this goal by running groups designed to improve our clients hard skills and soft skills. Some of these groups involve taking inventory and restocking, sanitizing and maintaining supplies, and kit building. Additionally, the Milieu Center has a Work Crew program. Work Crew allows our clients to focus on tasks while in a simulated work environment, while also earning some extra money.”

Program Assistants:

“Lead program assistant responsibilities consist of making sure that the program assistant’s are following through with all protocols and procedures that are put into place. These procedures include making sure facilitators and members of middle management are informed of what is happening on the floor”
