Recreation Therapy Students

SERVICE-LEARNING HOURS

Contact Calvin Hackett as far in advance as possible to schedule volunteer hours. Be prepared to describe all assignments that will effect programming.

Examples include: 

• Observing groups
• Observing assessments
• Co-Facilitating groups
• Facilitating groups

Volunteer hours typically occur Monday - Friday between 9am and 2:30pm. Half-day and full-day opportunities are available.

General Volunteer Hours

Not sure what a Recreation Therapist is? Interested in human behavior and mental health? Students currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year program are encouraged to check out what the Milieu Center has to offer. A short-term, regular commitment is required of a minimum of 1 day per week for 6 weeks.

You'll have an opportunity to assist Facilitators, Program Assistants, and clients in a variety of group settings. Contact Calvin Hackett for more information.
